About Us
Cultivate Recreation Therapy was established to help foster physical, emotional and social potential in children and young adults. The word ‘Cultivate’ means “to promote or improve the growth and development by labor and attention, to develop or improve by education or training.” This is what our experienced, creative team will develop with your child/at your school. Every child has a HUGE potential to grow, blossom, and flourish. We exist to make it fun to help your child/student achieve success! Our therapists are trained to provide exceptional programming for children with physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs. Our qualified Recreation Therapists have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree are state and/or nationally certified. We are a Non-Public Agency providing quality Recreation Therapy Services in Southern California.


School Based Recreation Therapy:
Initial Assessments, Three-year Assessments, and IEE Assessments
Recreation Therapy student sessions utilizing effective modalities to achieve established goals
Class group social functioning skill building
Consultation to support teachers/school administration
Group Recreation Therapy Classes:
After school classes for school age participants designed to develop a wide range of skills
Mobile private activity sessions
High school/young adult transition groups designed to develop social skills, independence, leisure/hobby development and more
Recreation therapy utilizes a wide range of leisure and recreation modalities including: sports, drama/role play, music, art, games and more to increase independence, understand the world, develop positive relationships, and learn essential life skills.

Engaging classes to build skills in: social functioning skills, sustaining cooperative play, positive group behaviors and more!
Each class includes interactive lessons using games/role play/music/crafts to teach and reinforce skills!
Taught by: Recreation Therapist, Music Therapist and trained support staff
Fun and cooperative basketball skill classes that include lessons in: Basketball rules and game play, teamwork, compromise, turn-taking, drills to improve skills and prepare participants to sustain play in a cooperative or competitive team game!
Taught by: Strength and Conditioning Coach, Recreation Therapist and trained support staff




Recreation Therapy
Teen And Young Adult Social and Leisure Skill Development Classes
Semi-Private Basketball Training:
Groups of 2-4 emphasizing skill development, confidence building and in-game awareness tailored to the individual needs and goals of participants.
Taught by: Strength and Conditioning Coach and trained support staff
Skill-building recreation and leisure based community groups. Current classes include interventions that focus on: Executive functioning skills, leisure and recreation skill development, social skill development, Sports, Music and Art.
Taught by: Recreation Therapist, Music Therapist and trained support staff
Classes for ages 14-24 forming monthly
